Drawing Cartoon Hands

Hands are an essential part of your cartoon character. They can help make up one's mind moods, hold things, point to places and much more than. In that respect, hands are just as important every bit the confront.

You lot can oftentimes relate your cartoon grapheme's facial expression to their hands.  For example, if your character were enraged, they would brandish a facial expression of gritted teeth and lowered eyebrows, with clenched fists of anger.

The all-time method for drawing hands is to start off with a simple loving cup shape that represents the palm. Another method for drawing hands is to employ the stick method, as shown below. Start past cartoon a circle this time as a guide, then place your sticks where you want the centre of your fingers to be. And then sketch around the sticks and so that it makes upwards the fingers (and pollex.) Once complete, sketch it fully.

The final method for cartoon fingers is to apply circles equally joints where necessary.

This is the trickiest and most fourth dimension-consuming method, but always delivers the best results if executed correctly.

So first describe your oval shape to represent the palm. And so add in all the circles which represent the joints. Ideally your joints will be the same width as the fingers/ thumbs themselves.

Yous volition also want to include finger tips every bit 'joints' otherwise you won't know where the finger ends. Then sketch around all the joints to create your hand. In one case completed, sketch in fully.
